Army was down by 25 points with 12 minutes 45 seconds to go, no way in the world they win right? Wrong. The Black Knights scored on 12 straight possessions to cut it to a one-point lead when Army point guard Jordan Fox hit a three to give the Black Knights a two-point lead with 19.2 seconds left.

Army’s season, which is being considered as a rebuilding year, has been a pretty disappointing one, before today they had just ten wins and were third to last in the Patriot League. If there was one major highlight for first year head coach Jimmy Allen, it was on December 7th when the Black Knights beat Air Force. Today Army got their biggest win in a long time.

I’m not going to lie, I almost turned the game off three or four minutes into the second half, Army was getting beat down, offensively, defensively, and mentally. Navy just had their number, it felt like they were going to sweep Army and sing second two times in a row. But the Cadets had different plans, it all started with a layup by Mac Hoffman, then Kessler, then Fox. The shots just kept going in and the Navy basket had a lid on it, missing shot after shot.

The Midshipman fans were stunned, they didn’t know what happened to their team. The Mids know what it’s like to be down by a lot and make a huge comeback, Navy came back from a 25 point deficit earlier this year against Bryant.

The Black Knights even got a tweet from Sportscenter anchor Kevin Connors:

This was a huge win for the Black Knights and it will hopefully build momentum towards the Patriot League Tournament. I’ll leave you with Army’s locker room celebration.
