Florida Atlantic’s all-time sack leader will be making his way to the NFL, as defensive end Trey Hendrickson is going to the New Orleans Saints with the #103 overall pick.

Hendrickson was a very good player on some very below average teams, racking up 29.5 sacks in his four years with the Owls. The two-time all Conference USA pick played for one of the worst defenses in the conference last year, but still was able to rack up 9.5 sacks to become the CUSA Defensive Player of the Year.
The defensive end’s speed during the combine drew a lot of attention for him, while teams lauded his footwork and ability to force turnovers. On the flip side, his average size and slow reaction to the snap are things the Saints will have to cope with.
New Orleans desperately needs help on the edge, so adding Hendrickson will be a step in the right direction. If they can bulk him up and get his timing better, he could become one of the best players to ever come out of FAU.
Congrats to Trey Hendrickson on landing with the New Orleans Saints with the #103 pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.
