Yet another Georgia Southern player has been signed by an NFL team. Safety Ironhead Gallon was picked up by the World Champion Philadelphia Eagles Monday.
Gallon was picked up by the Arizona Cardinals last year as an undrafted free agent but didn’t make it past the last round of cuts.
While on the surface this could be the Eagles just adding an extra body ahead of their last preseason game against the Jets Thursday, his tremendous speed and physicality could be enough to earn him a spot on the practice squad at the very least.
This brings the total number of Georgia Southern Eagles in the NFL up to six. The others being J.J. Wilcox (Jets), Jerick McKinnon (49ers), Matt Breida (49ers), Antwoine Williams (Vikings), and Ukeme Eligwe (Chiefs).
