Anyone who has ever lived through a hurricane knows they are no laughing manner. The outer bands of this Category-4 behemoth, Hurricane Florence, are hitting the Carolina coast as of Wednesday night. Category-4 means 120+ mph winds. To put it into perspective, Hurricane Harvey was a Category-4 and it caused $125 billion worth of damage to east Texas last year. Football isn’t the main concern at times like these, but nonetheless it has to be addressed.
Several games projected to be in Florence’s path have already been canceled or rescheduled. For a running list, check out r/CFB.
But what about Georgia Southern vs. Clemson? Well, both schools have decided to brave the elements and play with a slight adjustment.
Kickoff was moved from 3:30 to noon. It is subject to change depending on what track the storm takes, but as of now, the show will go on. Meanwhile stay tuned to Twitter for any updates.
