Army Sprint Football Deserves More Attention

I haven’t seen any press about the Army sprint football team and how great they are, so here I am.
Let’s take it back to last season.
Last year the Black Knights went undefeated and won the National Championship over Penn.
The Black Knights offense was unstoppable, scoring 45.5 points per game.
They were led by QB Keegan West(son of head coach Mark West). The 2018 Army team is still led by the father/son duo and they are still beating up on teams and most importantly, beating Navy.
So far this season they are 4-0 with wins over Chesnut Hill, Navy, Saint Thomas Aquinas,  and Penn.
They average 36.5 points a game and only give up 6.75 points.
They are the Alabama of sprint football, they blow teams out with ease. They’ve had one close game this year and it was in Annapolis against the Midshipmen.

Army nailed a late field goal to go up 17-14 and that was the winning margin as Army captured the first star of the 2018-19 Army/Navy series.
Keegan West had the best game of his career last Friday night against Penn in a National Title rematch. West set a new career high in attempts (59), completions (38), and yards (374). His career night led Army to a 28-6 victory over Penn.
The most impressive victory (besides the Navy one) is by far the 56-0 beatdown of Saint Thomas Aquinas.
The Spartans came into the game undefeated and it felt like they might be able to hang with the high powered Army team. Nope. Army racked up 483 total yards, 24 first downs, and 56 points.
Now let’s talk about the defense. What a performance by them. They held to Spartans to -46 rushing yards. Yes, you read that right -46. They also only let up 45 total yards of offense. If that isn’t impressive then I don’t what it is.
Next up for the Black Knights is a road game against Post on October 20th.
