The RedHawks are winners of two straight, blowing out Akron (41-17) and Kent State (31-6).
Before those two they were 1-4 with little hope in their season, they now sit at 3-4 and now have hope to go bowling.
Their last five games will be very hard to navigate @Army, @Buffalo, Ohio, @NIU, and Ball State. If you see three wins in there, let me know because I don’t.
Miami scores 25.7 points per game and 360.6 yards per game. Their QB Gus Ragland is the key to their offense, so far this season he had 10 touchdowns and only three picks.
When Ragland is on, the Miami is on, when he’s off, they start the season 1-4.
Defensively they give up 24 points and 350.1 yards per game. They are stingy against the run only giving up 123 yards per game, but they also haven’t faced a run game like Army’s yet.
The Black Knights are coming off another dominant win, blowing out the Spartans of SJSU 52-3.
They got down 3-0 early and responded by dropping 52 unanswered points.
They opened the second half by forcing five turnovers in ten plays. The score went from 14-3 to 45-3. The Black Knights had imposed their will on the winless Spartans.
I remind you every week that Kelvin Hopkins is very good at this football thing.
Kelvin Hopkins is good at football
There, you’ve been reminded.
Hopkins leads the team with 605 passing yards (the team had 361 all of last year) and 496 rushing yards.
He has made the right reads consistently and given Army an added element of attack in the passing game.
The offense has been unstoppable this season and he has been the main reason for that.
James “Hammersticks” Nachtigal is going to have a huge game Saturday afternoon and lead the Army defense to another huge win.
I expect the slotbacks to have a huge game by getting outside and getting big chunk plays.
Army will move to five wins and be able to clinch bowl eligibility next week against Eastern Michigan.
