Army Wins a Two Overtime Thriller 31-30

This is a Cam Thomas fan page now.
Also Army has won ten straight at home.
The news broke that Kelvin Hopkins wouldn’t be able to go due to a hip injury sustained last week in the first quarter of the SJSU game.
Cam Thomas got the start and got right to work, leading Army to a touchdown on the Black Knights first drive.

The next drive was a little puzzling. Miami (OH) moved the ball but they stalled at the Army 29 yard line setting up a 4th and 8. You’d think they would attempt a field goal, but they would go for it. They got called for a false start yet they still went for it. They failed and Army got the ball back.
Cam Thomas led another beautiful drive down the field which was capped off with an Andy Davidson touchdown run from 11 yards out.
The RedHawks would respond. After a great kick return to set their offense up at the Miami 48, QB Gus Ragland would hit running back Kenny Young on a wheel route that lost Max Regan for a 34-yard touchdown.

Army got the ball back and marched down the field. They got to the Miami three yard line to set up a 3rd and goal with 12 seconds left in the half. Darnell Woolfolk picked up two yards to make it 4th and goal from the one with six seconds left. Woolfolk would be stuffed at the goal line and the Black Knights would be forced to take a 14-7 lead into the locker room.
I was a little surprised to see a fullback dive, I really expected a QB sneak with the ball so close to the goal line. I get that Cam Thomas isn’t that big of a QB but he can get a yard.
The second half was highlight reel material for the RedHawks. They completely shut Army down.
Army’s lone score in the second half was late in the third on a one yard run by Cam Thomas.
The 4th quarter saw an impressive comeback by Miami. After stopping Army with 3:35 left, the RedHawks worked their way down the field and on 4th and goal from the five, Miami scored the tying touchdown.

Overtime started with a Miami field goal.
Army got the ball and with the game on the line Army kicker John Abercrombie nailed a field goal to tie the game back up.

Army got the ball back and scored with an amazing effort by Darnell Woolfolk.

After a Miami touchdown, their coach made the call to go for the win and go for two.
What happened next was pure chaos.

I don’t know how Army held on, but they did. Cam Thomas impressed in his spot start for the injured Kelvin Hopkins with 137 yards on 26 yards and one touchdown.
