Jeff Monken and Army football announced that they made John Loose their new defensive coordinator today.
It’s a move that a lot of Army fans wanted to see after the Armed Forces Bowl where Loose served as the interim DC.
Loose served as the safeties coach for the Black Knights while Jay Bateman was the DC. Before that, he spent 14 years as the DC at Lafayette College and he also served as the Army JV teams coach for eight years prior to being at Lafayette.
The promotion has Jeff Monken excited, he said:
“John’s promotion to defensive coordinator is well earned. He is a great mentor and teacher and cares deeply about this program. He has continued to grow as a professional during his time here, and I am looking forward to seeing him in this new role after the performance of our defense in the bowl victory over Houston.”
