Dalton MacAfee Nominated for Hobey Baker Award

Dalton MacAfee, West Point senior and hockey captain was nominated for the prestigious Hobey Baker Award last Wednesday.
According to hobeybaker.com, nominees must “Exhibit strength and character, both on and off the ice, contribute to the integrity of the team, display outstanding skills in all phases of the game and show scholastic achievement and sportsmanship”
MacAfee leads the team with 20 points this season, which ranks him 8th amongst defensemen in college hockey. His 16 assists rank him 16th overall, and 5th amongst defensemen.
In the past 10 years, only twice did a defenseman win the award. Both, like MacAfee, were seniors.
Should MacAfee win, he would be the first Army player ever to win the award.
