It’s that time of the year where we’re looking for offseason content, so here we are.
But this is actually some cool news.
Bill Bender, an author at Sporting News, ranked Kelvin Hopkins as the 25th best quarterback in college football.
Hopkins ranks among other standout talents such as Trevor Lawrence, Justin Herbert, Sam Ehlinger, Kellen Mond, and others.
Bender cites the reason for the ranking as: “Hopkins was a 1,000/1,000 quarterback for the Black Knights last season. He rushed for 1,017 yards and 17 touchdowns, but it’s the 1,026 passing yards and six touchdowns that made him even more effective. He leads an Army team capable of double-digit wins this season, and he will get a chance to shine at Michigan on Sept. 7.”
It should be noted that if McKenzie Milton was cleared to play, Hopkins might have just missed the top 25. But because it’s not clear if Milton will, he was the one to just miss the rankings.
But nonetheless, this is still great news for Hopkins and Army. It’s a sign that the Black Knights are making waves and starting to earn some respect.
