If we didn’t already know that Johnny Surdick and AJ Barretto were some of the best in America solely off the fact that they’re West Point cadets, Inside Lacrosse provided further validation.
Both Army lacrosse players earned All-American honors. Surdick 1st team, Barretto third.
All-Americans are voted on by media members who also vote on the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
This is not the first time Surdick received All-American honors, having earned second team in his junior year as well. However, this is the first time Barretto earned such honors.
Surdick led the team this season with 64 ground balls and 36 caused turnovers, more than doubling the numbers of next best.
Barretto had the second-best goals-against average at 8.58, totaled 201 saves this season, and had a save percentage of .576, which was good enough for 6th best nationally. His 13 wins was a program record as well.
