Morgan State
The Bears have had a rough start to the season, through two games (Bowling Green State, James Madison) they have been outscored 109-15.
New head coach Tyrone Wheatly is still on the hunt for his first win and the team is looking for their first road non-conference win since 2014 when they beat Bowie State.
If Morgan State has one thing going for them in this matchup it’s that they’re experienced. They have 17 starters coming back from last season.
They average 62 rushing yards and 141 passing yards per game. They are going to have a hard time sustaining drives on this Black Knights defense.
Their defense has been just as abysmal, 54.5 points and 563.5 yards per game is no way to keep a game close, let alone win.
Army
Jabari Laws. That’s it. Preview over.
Laws made his first ever start under center last week against UTSA and impressed everyone racking up 137 rushing yards and one touchdown.
Hopkins might be ready to go this week but I expect to see Laws get a lot of snaps because Army should be able to handle the Bears pretty easily.
Connor Slomka has been up to Connor Slomka type things, he had 59 yards and a touchdown last week.
On the defense, Elijah Riley has been making play after play, he’s had a strip sack in each of the last two games.
This should be an easy win for Army and the fans should get a look at how much depth this team actually has.
Prediction
Army wins and Army wins big going into the bye week. Morgan State won’t be able to offer much of a fight.
