Army Football Schedules Future Series With Troy and UTSA

On Friday morning both Troy and UTSA announced that they will each have an upcoming series against Army.

The Black Knights will play the Trojans four times over 10 years beginning in 2022.

  • November 12th, 2022 at Troy
  • October 14th, 2023 at Army
  • October 19th, 2030 at Army
  • November 22nd, 2031 at Troy

This will be the first time these two teams have ever faced off on the football field. The two programs have almost mirrored each other in record since 2014, with Army going 40-35 and Troy going 43-32 over that span.

“This is a dynamic series not only for our football program but for our entire community,” Troy AD Brent Jones said. “Troy University is deeply connected to the military and it will be an honor for us to host Army twice in The Vet while it will be a pair of unforgettable trips to West Point for our student-athletes, staff and fans. This is a series that will command national attention with two strong football programs meeting four times over a 10-year period of time.”

This is a win for both teams. They are two programs that have been on the rise as of late. It’ll be interesting to see how both teams look in 2022.

UTSA also announced that they will be playing the Black Knights in the near future beginning in 2022 as well.

  • September 10th, 2022 at Army
  • September 16th, 2023 at UTSA

This will be the second and third time these two teams will meet each other. They last met in September 2019 when Army traveled to San Antonio and beat the Roadrunners 31-13.

Army’s 2022 schedule now includes:

  • at Coastal Carolina
  • at Tennessee
  • ULM
  • Georgia State
  • at Wake Forest
  • UTSA
  • Colgate
  • UConn
  • Air Force
  • at Troy
  • at UMass
  • vs Navy (in Philadelphia, PA)

Army’s 2023 schedule now includes:

  • at ULM
  • Ball State
  • Syracuse
  • at UTSA
  • Boston College
  • Troy
  • at LSU
  • UMass
  • at Air Force
  • Coastal Carolina
  • vs Navy (in City TBD)

Army seems to be going away from playing two FCS teams each year, which will make bowl eligibility easier to obtain if they reach six wins and boost their strength of schedule.
